Recycling Electrontics & Special Materials

This weekend we cleaned up and cleaned out the house.  What a great feeling, I must say.  Now I know it's not as exciting as say, skiing in Mammoth, or going to the Modernism week in Palm Springs, but a good thing to do nonetheless.  We are now 8 paint cans lighter, one broken camera (very sad that it can't be fixed), one bag of fabric dyes (from my costumer days) among other stuff.  We also donated to our favorite thrift store and took three (yes three, don't ask) sets of crutches to a fabulous organization in Pasadena called The Convalescent Aid Society which loans medical equipment to Pasadena and it's neighboring communities. They need volunteers as well if you have some free time...

We found a great site in LA called SAFE Collection Center and there are several locations.  It's the City of LA Sanitation Department of Public Works and it couldn't be easier.  Just use the link to find information and location sites and times or call 1-800-98-TOXIC.

More info can be found at the California e-cycle website: calrecycle.ca.gov or 916-341-6300.

Our house and garage are a lot spiffier and lighter and we are on a roll.  Tag - you're it!

A special shout-out to our good friend, Jan, who took some items to Habitat for Humanity and to use in his amazing recycled material furniture he builds.  Not to mention that fixing many things at our house and spurring us to get a move on.  You all are wishing for a friend like that!

As to what this has to do with golf carts....it's safe to say that I'm obsessed and can't wait to have my own.

How great would this '57 Chevy golf cart look in the garage?!

Or maybe this Porsche?

Girl's gotta have a dream!
