Grand Perfomances
Free, fun outdoor performances at California Plaza in Downtown LA. Culture outdoors partaking of our SoCal climate. For free. Did I mention that all summer long these interesting, eclectic performances are free?
Grand Performances are a non-profit and you can read their blog here to get an idea of what you can see.
Who are you?
We're Grand Performances, silly! We're a nonprofit that puts on free, outdoor concerts at California Plaza in Downtown LA throughout the summer. We present free performing arts that reflect the best of global culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los Angeles. Take a look at our blog's first entry to get a visual idea of what we do.
Where can I find you?
We're located at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles, 300-350 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90071. Additional information can be found here.
Where do I park?
Our parking is located at 351 S. Olive St. Los Angeles, CA 90013 – just under California Plaza. The driveway is on your right as you're headed south on Olive, just under the overpass right before 4th. Park your car then hop in an elevator to the Plaza level and let your ears guide you the rest of the way. Parking is $7.50 after 5pm. We recommend finding other parking for our noon shows as during the day it'll cost you $38 bucks for 2 hours or more at our lot! There are plenty of other public parking areas around. More information can be found on this printable map.
Do I need tickets?
All shows are FREE, open seating, and wide open to anyone and everyone to attend. Those reserved seats you see at our shows are for our GP Jewels. However, you are allowed to bring your own folding seats, just make sure you don't block any areas designated for walking, dancing or wheelchairs.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Of course! We want you to have a laidback time and food and drink only help that! Many GP veterans come early with picnic baskets to stake out seats. They pass time with glasses of wine (yes, thosekinds of drinks are allowed) and other finger foods. If you bring an impressive spread, maybe you'll make it on our blog!
Can I buy food on the Plaza?
Yup. Restaurants that are usually open during shows include, Starry Kitchen, Casa, Starbucks, Johnny's Pizza, Famima and California Pizza Kitchen (across the street).
Is there a place to buy drinks in the Plaza?
Famima can fulfill your beer and wine needs.
What do you have planned for this season?
A ton of goodgoodgood stuff! It's our 25th Anniversary so we're planning to make it memorable year!
Are you accessible?
We certainly are! California Plaza is fully wheelchair accessible. Special seating areas on the lower plaza are designated by signage or blue tape. Phonic Ear System, for audio reinforcement, can be made available at patrons' request with 48 hours notice.
Can I bring Beethoven and Hercules?
We love pets just as much as you, but unfortunately they've got to stay home tonight.
So Beethoven and Hercules aren't allowed, but do you think they'd mind if I brought Rocky and Brutus?
